GTI Students Create Prize Winning Costume For Tenerife Carnival

By Rachel Petticrew

A group of GTI students, who are currently on Erasmus in Tenerife, Spain have lent a hand in creating this amazing costume, which was hand crafted for display in the Carnival of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

The Carnival took place in mid-February, and is the second-biggest in the world, after Rio de Janeiro. It attracts visitors from all over the world each year.

The carnival involves women dressed in fantastic costumes competing for the title of Queen of the Carnival. This years theme was Fantasy, and the larger than life, intricate costumes certainly did not disappoint.

The event has been held annually for hundreds of years, and also includes a street festival, which is both a musical display and a celebration, with thousands of people dancing on the streets of Santa Cruz!

Congratulations, guys!
