Young Communicators In Galway

Six students from Aydın Doğan Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School went to Ireland for a month within the scope of Erasmus Plus project to take a Digital Media class. The students who are chosen by English interview and vocational exam, will work in Journalism in the Media  department  in the Galway Technical Institutes. Students will prepare a documentary and brochures about  Galway city.


The six students, who are supported by the Turkish National Agency of the Ministry of the European Union, are Şevval Öztürk, Ece Deniz Dinçer, Gülin Tan, Furkan Hasan Öztürk, Mehmet Eren Kalender and Taha Berk Gazioğlu. They said “We are very excited about this opportunity.”


The Erasmus Plus “Digital Media Applications” crew took to the road on 13 March and settled in Galway City with the help of GTI’s teachers Donall Mac Aodha, Mary McGuinness and John McLoughlin. Media students will work on “Final Cut”  and they will prepare a documentary about Galway city. Journalism students will work on “InDesign”  and they will prepare brochures about the city. The Turkish media teacher Aşır Gül will look after the students, who will be given a Certificate and will return to Istanbul, Turkey at 10th of April.


2 vocational teachers, Kadriye Özkal and Zübeyde Adım came from Turkey to GTI for 2 weeks. They are going to attend Journalism and Media classes in GTI.
